Gail F. DeGruise passed away at East Jefferson General Hospital on Monday, March 20, 2023 at the age of 76. She was a former switchboard operator for Dameron Pierson and a salesclerk for Dillards Lakeside. She was predeceased by her parents, Thompson P. DeGruise and Helen Pertuit DeGruise and her sisters, Doris DeGruise Lampo (Vincent J. Lampo, Jr.) and Janet DeGruise Baracco. She is survived by three nieces, Lea Ann Baracco, Tina Lampo Guidry (Ronald “R.J.” Guidry, Jr.), Kimberly Lampo Thornton (Kerry Thornton); a nephew, Thompson "T.J." J. Baracco (Roxanne Baracco) and eight great nieces and nephews: Brittany L. Guidry, Brandon M. Thornton (Ellen Thornton), Ronald "Ronnie" J. Guidry, III (Bailey Guidry), Marissa E. Guidry, Barak A. Thornton, Bryce C. Thornton, William J. Baracco and Noah M. Baracco. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Leo J. Baracco, great great nephew, Ryder J. Guidry and baby Thornton.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023 at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in Lake Lawn Park in New Orleans.
