A gifted horticulturist and devoted gardener, Gary had a remarkable passion for plants—particularly bromeliads and orchids. For decades, his talent could be seen throughout New Orleans, where he designed, installed, and cared for plant displays in countless offices and commercial spaces. He generously shared his knowledge with others, inspiring many to discover the same joy and beauty he found in gardening.
Gary found joy in making people laugh and never missed an opportunity to pull a prank. Even in his final days, he was still playing jokes on those around him.
Gary’s passing has left a space that can never be filled. Our world has been forever altered, and we are still trying to understand what life looks like without hearing his voice, sharing our day, or planning our next adventure. The silence is profound because our friendship’s were extraordinary.
Those fortunate enough to know Gary knew a man who loved deeply, laughed loudly, gave freely of himself, and left an unforgettable impression on everyone he met. He lived life on his own terms, with humor, honesty, compassion, and an enormous heart.
Until we meet again, Cousin, uncle, partner and friend.
