George Leonard Cusachs

He was born June 17, 1936 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Maurice and Lucile (Soniat-Dufossat) Cusachs. He was the beloved husband of 65 years to Thelma Fourcade Cusachs.

After joining the United States Navy in 1955 and serving for two years, George was a dedicated electrician and member of IBEW Local 130 for 60 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and all whose lives he touched.

George was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Elaine Cusachs Guidry. He is survived by his loving wife Thelma, two siblings, Maurice Cusachs Jr. and Yvonne Cusachs Eiswirth, and sister-in-law, Joyce Fourcade. He loved his four children, George Cusachs (Shawn), Susan Cusachs Kimble (Randy), Donald Cusachs (Robin), and Bonnie Cusachs Moran (Billy). George adored his grandchildren, Stephanie Kimble Caro (Cameron), Tyler Kimble (Keegan), Cathleen Cusachs, Molly Cusachs, Charlie Cusachs, Isabella Moran, Samantha Moran, Maria Moran, Dylan Cusachs, and his step-grandchild Brooke Castiglione (Stick). He loved watching his young great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Ryder, and Kaiser Caro; Chandler Kimble; and step-great-grandkid Maxwell Castiglione. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews and good friends.

Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 11:00 am-1:00 pm at St. Clement of Rome Church, 3990 West Esplanade Avenue in Metairie, LA. A Funeral Mass will follow at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, Masses may be offered.
