George James Williams Sr.

George James Williams, Sr., age 91 of Destrehan, LA passed away peacefully on Thursday May 3, 2018 with his family by his side. He was a WWII Navy veteran. Loving husband of Johanna Kramer Williams. Father of George J. Williams, Jr. (Janice), Joan Hoover, Patricia Cowand (Charles) and Barbara Youngblood (John). Son of the late Henry L. Williams, Sr. and Elonora Luscy Williams. Brother of Richard Williams (Tina) and the late Henry L. Williams, Jr., Charles H. Williams, Norma Williams, Doris Erato and Lily Winn. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Williams was a retired plumber with the Plumber and Steamfitters Local 60. Special thanks to the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home in Reserve, LA and Notre Dame Hospice for their support in our time of need. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., in Metairie, LA on Monday, May 7, 2018 beginning at 12:00 noon with a Missae Requiem to follow at 2:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel. Interment will be private at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery.
