

George Henry Tillman, age 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 18, 2023 at West Jefferson Hospital. He was born in the City of New Orleans and moved to Algiers in 1968. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Reed Tillman, his Parents, Clarence Sr. and Katie Tillman, his sisters, Leona Tillman and Iris Spring, and brother Clarence Tillman Jr.
George was survived by his Step Daughter, Robin Marie Adams and Husband Noel “Torchy Adams, Step Son, William Ashworth. His grand children, Noel III, Christian, and Matthew Adams, Angelice Fried, Angela, Melissa, and Richie Ashworth, his Niece and her husband Donna and Harold Tiberville, Nephew and his wife, Karl and Donna Tillman, Nephew and his wife, James and Betty Cuevas.
He was also survived by a host of Great Grandchildren, Ryan and Megan Rene Franklin, David and Mylee Camp, Laycie, Brennan and Julian Adams, Kaitlyn and Trey Luminais, Colton and Wyatt Adams, Nicholas, Jackson, and Sarah Tyson, and Ashley Sercovich.
Grand Nieces and Nephews, Seth, Matthew, Karley, Lauren, and Maddie Tillman, Betty Stall Prentice, Rebecca Stall Henry, Katie Stall, Joshua and Aaron Cuevas.
After high school, George enlisted in the US Army where he served as a Medical Aidman. After the military George studied and became a Journeyman Plumber / Pipefitter. He joined the Plumber’s and Steamfitter’s Union when he was a member for over 60 years. George was a 33rd Degree Mason and was a Shriner for the Jerusalem Temple.
Visitation will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home locate at 4747 Veterans Blvd. near Clearview Pky. In Metairie, La. from 9am to 11am. Graveside services and Interment will be at 11:30 am at Greenwood Cemetery located at 5190 Canal Blvd. In New Orleans, 70124.
