George Patrick Vance, age 70, passed away suddenly with his wife and son by his side. He leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and kindness. To his wife of 36 years, Marybeth Mollere “MB” Vance, George was her hero, best friend, and the love of her life.
A dedicated businessman, George owned and operated B & G Automotive for 47 years. He was known for his honesty and generosity, always going beyond repairing foreign vehicles to truly care for the people he served. George proudly graduated cum laude from Loyola University. He loved boating and spending time on the water with his family. Even at 70 years old, he was still water skiing; a testament to his adventurous spirit and zest for life, which was marked by hard work and a genuine heart for others.
His greatest joy was his family. He was deeply proud of his son Austin and daughter-in-law Lexie, and he adored his granddaughters Linley and Ainsley, who lovingly called him Pops. He is also survived by his sister, Dr. Mary Lee Vance.
George was preceded in death by his son Paul, his parents Emma and George Vance, and his brother Bill Vance.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, and loyal friend to many. His gentle spirit and willingness to help others touched countless lives. George’s greatest legacy is the love he gave so freely, and he will be deeply missed. He and Marybeth loved the beach; it was a very special place for them to just relax and unwind.
A Celebration of George’s Life will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Kenner, LA on Friday, July 10, 2026. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend as we celebrate a life well lived and deeply loved.
