

Gerald Constantine Pelias was born on June 10, 1923 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is the son of the late Constantine “Gus” Pelias, founder of Imperial Trading Company, and the late Theodora A. Pelias. He departed peacefully at a family home surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at the age of 87 As a devoted owner of Imperial Trading for over 71 years, he was instrumental in the growth and success of the company for over three generations. He was the devoted father of Constantine “Tift” Pelias (Jimmy Harris) of Rockville, Md.; Dr. Marilyn Pelias (Jeffrey Guice) of New Orleans, La.; and Diann Stathakis (John Stathakis) of Anderson, S.C. He leaves to cherish his memories his children, his sister, Anita Pelias Georges and seven grandchildren, Alexander, Maximillian, Electra, Chloe, James, Gerald, and William and his caregiver Sabrina Wilson. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, Constantine and Theodora Pelias, his wife, Evelyn Pelias, and siblings Regina Anas and Harold Pelias.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 12 noon at The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1200 Robert E. Lee Blvd, New Orleans, LA. Rev. Fr. Anthony Stratis Officiated.
