Gloria DellaValle

Gloria Theresa DellaValle (Nannie), entered the golden gates of heaven to be with her Lord Savior on Sunday, June 17, 2012. Beloved Mother of John J. Landry, III (Juanita) of Luling, LA and Beloved Grandmother of Anita Landry Obenschain (Scott) of New Orleans. Daughter of the late John and Rita DellaValle, Sister of the late John DellaValle Jr, Charles DellaValle, Olga Pichon, Anthony DellaValle, Anna Ledbetter, and Jeanne Buccola, she is survived by her Brother, Morris DellaValle, Sister-in-law, Lorraine DellaValle, and Brother-in-law, Harry Ledbetter Sr, Nieces and Nephews who were very dear to her heart. She will be sadly missed by family and friends whose lives she touched. Nannie lived a full life, very rich in family and of her Catholic Faith.

The family would like to thank her niece Maelin, and her most faithful friends Judy Naquin, Sheri Toole, Sheryl Clement, Mim Dicharry, Mary McDonald and her caregivers Kanisha and Ramona who were there every step of the way during her courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Also, thanks to Hospice Compassus Nurses and Staff who tended her with loving care.

Gloria was a faithful parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Kenner for over 40 years; she served as a Eucharistic Minister and participated on many committees throughout her beloved church parish. She was a recipient of the “Order of St. Louis” Medal on August 26, 1990 at the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Nativity of our Lord Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 3325 Loyola Drive, Kenner, LA 70065 on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 12 noon. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens at the Chapel of the Resurrection Mausoleum, 11316 River Road, St. Rose, LA 70087.
