Gloria R. Grimes

Gloria was the beloved wife of the late Lyle Grimes, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and devotion. A dedicated homemaker, Gloria took great pride in caring for her family and was known for her kind, giving nature. She made it a point to talk to and make friends with everyone she met, spreading warmth and positivity wherever she went.

An avid animal lover, Gloria’s compassion extended to all creatures—especially horses and cats. Her home was a place of comfort not only for family and friends, but often for animals in need. She also loved to travel, embracing every new adventure with enthusiasm and joy.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Grimes; her son, Darrin Grimes; daughter-in-law, Susie Grimes; granddaughter, Danielle Grimes; and great-grandson, Brayden Luke Grimes.

She is survived by her loving sons, Brian Grimes (PuJuan) and David Grimes (Donna); her cherished grandchildren, Lauren Grimes, Lindsey Grimes, and Tina Ni Yan; and her adored great-grandchildren, Jasmine Pierce, Caden Grimes, Christopher Grimes, Savannah Grimes, and Jaidyn Grimes. She is also survived by her dear siblings, Jerol Luthjens Netherland and Michael Ravain Sr.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation for Gloria on Monday, November 10, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA 70006, followed by a Memorial Mass from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Interment will immediately follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA 70001

Gloria will be remembered for her generous heart, love for family, and the kindness she shared with everyone she met. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to a local animal shelter or rescue organization.
