

Gordon Hosch, born on August 5, 1941, closed out his T accounts on February 11, 2026, and went home. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Katherine (Kathy) LeDoux Hosch of 61 years, his daughter Paige Hosch Heurtin and her husband Fred of Atlanta, GA; his sons, the late Keith Hosch of Metairie, LA, and Kyle Hosch and his wife Christine, of Vienna, VA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alex and Kate Hosch, and the late baby Angus Frederick Heurtin; his brother Glenn Hosch and his wife, Karen of Poplarville, MS; his sister-in-law, Anna White of Groves, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph Gordon Hosch and Vera Thomas Hosch. Gordon was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Metairie. He graduated from Alcee Fortier High School in New Orleans. Gordon received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from LSUNO (now UNO), a Master of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas, and a Ph.D. in Accounting from Louisiana State University. He was on the accounting faculty at the University of New Orleans for 46 years. While on the faculty at UNO, Gordon was the Chairman of the Department of Accounting, the Coordinator of Graduate Programs in Accounting, and an Assistant Dean in the College of Business. Upon retirement, he was a Professor Emeritus of Accounting. Gordon was a CPA in Louisiana (ret.) and received a Lifetime Membership/Service Award from the Society of Louisiana CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs, and he was the College of Business Alumnus of the Year in 1983. He received numerous teaching and service awards while on the faculty at UNO. In addition, Gordon was the KPMG Professor of Accounting. He was a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Beta Alpha Psi, Delta Sigma Pi, and the Accounting Association. During his tenure at UNO, he co-authored six editions of a governmental accounting textbook and several chapters in governmental handbooks. Gordon was also a member of Dawn Busters Kiwanis. He was devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren, son-in-law, and daughter-in-law. Gordon will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, followed by a Prayer Service. Inurnment will immediately follow at Greenwood Cemetery, 5190 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer a contribution to the Department of Accounting, College of Business, University of New Orleans, New Orleans, LA 70148 for a scholarship in the Department of Accounting at UNO.
