Grace Virginia Musmeci McArthur passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on July 22, 2026, at the age of 95. She is preceded in death by her parents, the late Mathilda Jehle Musmeci and Stephen Musmeci, Sr.; her siblings, Stephen Musmeci, Jr., Pvt. Julius Musmeci, Joseph Musmeci, Jerome Musmeci, and Shirley Theresa Musmeci.
She is survived by her loving children, Laura Lynn McArthur, Jamie Anne McArthur Tranchina, James Patrick McArthur, Jr. (Andrea), Pamela Maria McArthur Painter (Skip), and Timothy Michael McArthur (Elena); grandchildren, Tonya Tranchina, Katlyn McArthur, Bridget McArthur, Regina Taylor, and Corey Taylor; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Mathilda "Nana" Musmeci Talancich, along with several nieces and nephews.
Grace loved to sing, dance, and bowl, and loved spending time at the East Jefferson Wellness Center when she was able. She also enjoyed going to the movies and Turner Classic Movies
The family would like to thank the staff of Ormond Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she lived for the past seven years, and especially the staff of Ochsner Medical Center of Kenner and Compassus Hospice for their compassionate care during her final days.
A Visitation will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA 70006, on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, followed by a Catholic Prayer Service in the Leitz-Eagan Chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Greenwood Cemetery, 5190 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, Louisiana 70124.
