Hamann passed away at Ochsner Hospital, at the age of
78, surrounded by his loving family at his side. Guy was
predeceased by his daughter Tara, his mother, Lillian, his father
Roy and his brothers David, Roy and Dean. He will be lovingly
remembered by his beautiful wife of 37 years, Christine
Hamann, his son, Scott and daughter-in-law Claudia, his
sister Joy and husband David, his stepdaughter Jennifer and
son-in-law Donnie, his son-in-law Michael, all his
grandchildren Anna, Peyton, Aubrey, Bobbi, Tristan, Kayla,
and John, and all the many family and friends who loved
and cherished him so dearly.
Guy was born and raised in the Irish Channel in New
Orleans and graduated from Redemptorist High School
which were enormous sources of pride for him. Here, he
established many of his family ties and lifelong
friendships. What he loved doing most was gathering with
family and friends, marching with the Irish Channel Corner
Club, and reunion celebrations. He had the remarkably
special gift of making everyone around him happy and laugh. He was a spark of life, and his loss will be missed
by so many who loved him.
The family wishes to offer a sincere thanks to all the staff at the CICU at Ochsner Hospital for their care.
Rest in peace! We love you with all our hearts and will
miss you with every fiber of our being.
