

Harold William Willem, Jr. passed away on Monday October 14, 2013 at 6:15 AM. He was born in New Orleans on May 14, 1925, to Anna Schulingkamp Willem and Harold William Willem, Sr. He grew up in New Orleans, lived for many years in Metairie, and recently moved to Ville Ste. Marie in Jefferson. Harold was a graduate of E.D. White High School and attended Loyola University.
Harold was married for 64 years to Jeanine Bordelon Willem. He is the proud father of David Willem (Jennifer), Michael Willem, Sr. (Sue Ramsey) and Leslie Willem Lindelow (Craig) of Hurst, TX and grandfather of Aimee, Michael Jr., Christopher and Allison Willem, Ashley Lindelow McCarrick (Ryan) and Christine Lindelow Kendrick (Justin) and great granddaughter Lilley May McCarrick. Harold is also survived by 1 sister, Lois Willem Magnon (Johnny) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by 3 sisters, Shirley Willem Osborne, Audrey Willem Vath, and Leah Willem Krail.
During his professional years Harold was a partner with the CPA firms of J.K. Byrne and Co. and Deloitte Touche. He served as president of the N.O. Chapter of CPA’s and president of the New Orleans Chapter Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants. He also held several positions with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and was for many years on the Board of Directors of Union Savings and Loan.
Harold’s biggest enjoyment in life was helping others which he accomplished by devoting his time to many organizations: Exchange Club of NO, Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans, Service Corps of Retired Executive (SCORE), AARP, Lazarus House, Meal on Wheels, NOGA, and the Fore Kids Foundation’s Junior Golf Program.
After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchild while attending all of their school and athletic activities. In addition to watching his beloved SAINTS he spent many sunrises at Lake Pontchatrain watching the birds and enjoying the companionship of his “fishing buddies”. He was a kind gentleman who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie, on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. Visitation from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
