I want to share 2 things that I have been thinking about. My Mom and I were not friends exactly and we did not speak often but, there was never any doubt in my mind that she was my NUMBER ONE fan and that she would always be there for me if I needed her. Just this last March, I had the flu and was sicker than I had been in years . Who do you think I called? She told me to go to the doctor and by that afternoon, you can bet I had gone. Everything he told me to do, she had already advised. I am nearly 60 years old and at my most vulnerable time health-wise, I chose my Mom to call above all others.
She and I also shared a love of hobbies, something I think both my parents gave us all to a great degree and, has enriched our lives beyond measure. So, a couple days after Mom died, we started cleaning her house. As we dismantled the physical evidence of her existence, I was reminded how many hobbies she had too and it made happy to know that she indulged so many of her interests and got so much joy from them. I am glad I had a mother like her.

I came to know Helen many years ago. Helen was my best friend’s mother and she wound up being a very good friend of mine as well.
Helen was my surrogate mother, she did so much for me throughout my life.
I met Helen when I was in my late teens and here I am at 62 wishing her a fond farewell.
She was a sentimental lady, she was thoughtful and generous. And if you were her friend you were her friend for life.
She’ll be greatly missed
