Helen England Yaeger, age 85, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on November 15, 2018, she was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Thomas Peyton England and Yolande Marie Deffarge England. She is preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Alvin Bennett Yaeger. Helen is survived by her children, Paul Yaeger (Pam), Yolande Yaeger (Lisa), Gretchen Tassin (David), Mark Yaeger, Mike Yaeger (Elia), Steve Yaeger (Niki–deceased), cousin, Marcel Garsaud (Fleta), sister-in-law, Joyce Quave, grandchildren, Carmen Buell, Eric Yaeger, Devin Tassin, Erica Helmrichs, and, Baileigh Yaeger, along with 6 great-grand-children with one on the way.
Helen served in St. Francis Xavier Parish Church and school as a volunteer beginning in 1968 and continued caring for the elderly in the community. She had a passion for helping and serving others. She was a loving, caring and giving person. She was an avid sports fan; she especially loved the St. Louis Cardinals and New Orleans Saints. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
A Memorial Service will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana on Monday, November 19, 2018. Visitation will be from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, and a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 pm.
