Helena Angelina Venezia Burdett

She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Walter Burdett, Jr. She was the mother of Charles W. Burdett, III (Linda) and Donald Burdett (Valerie). Grandmother of Crystal Burdett, Charles W. Burdett IV, Nicole Burdett Waguespack (Troy), Bradley Burdett (Brandy) and Christina Rice (Craig). Mrs. Burdett was the daughter of the late Martin Joseph Venezia and Elfrieda Schmitz Venezia and the sister of the late Leona Venezia Rallo. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews along with a host of great-grandchildren, friends and other family members.

Helena was a native of New Orleans and a resident of the Metairie/Kenner area. She was a graduate of SJ Peters High School class of 1952. She worked for DH Holmes and was also a beauty consultant for Mary Kay cosmetics. In addition, she worked as a proof operator for Jefferson Guaranty Bank. She was a devoted mother and wife who loved to sew and crochet all types of blankets, pins and prayer medals for the Father Seelos Shrine.

The family wishes to thank Guardian Health Care and Pam for taking such good care of Helena in her later years of life.

Services will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. on Monday, February 23, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am followed by Memorial Mass.
