Mr. Henry "Harry" L. Glaeser Jr.

Henry “Harry” L. Glaeser, Jr., age 88, passed away on Thursday, Janaury 20, 2011 after a brief illness. Mr. Glaeser was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Metairie, LA. Beloved husband of Alma Bourgeois Glaeser for 60 years. Father of Sister Julie Glaeser, F.S.Sp.J., Leon Henry Glaeser (wife, Sheila) and Cathy Glaeser Butts (husband, John). Grandfather of Aaron Glaeser, Jennifer G. Kelly (husband, Ryan) and John Glaeser (wife, Katie). Great grandfather of Jason Kelly, Aedan Glaeser, Eve Kelly, Jonas Glaeser, Gaelle Kelly and the late Caelen Kelly. Brother of the late Stanley Glaeser (surviving wife, Sharon). Son of the late Henry L. Glaeser, Sr. and Mamie P. Glaeser. Mr. Glaeser was retired from the New Orleans Sewage and Water Board, was a WWII Army veteran , a parishioner of St. Edward the Confessor Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus Gentilly Council 2925, the People Program, the NORD Band and was an avid saxophone player. Mr. Glaeser will always be remembered for his gentle spirit. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home Chapel, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Monday, January 24, 2011 beginning at 9:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 1:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel.
