Henry J. “Skee” Schiro, Sr. passed away at his home on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the age of 69. Beloved husband of Sylvia Guidry Schiro for 42 years. Son of the late Luke Schiro and Charlotte Nye Schiro. Father of Henry (Anita) Schiro, Jr., Paula Watson, Rachel (Chad) Gervais, Jeffrey (Andria) Schiro, Chad L. Schiro, and Stacy (Darrell) Barbara. Brother of Larry, Donald, and Raymond Schiro, and twin sister MaryAnn Maxwell as well as the late A.J. Burke, Dorothy Klein, Ted Schiro and Margaret Meyer. Grandfather to 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He taught us to work hard, laugh often, and love with all of our hearts.
Visitation will be held at St. Edward The Confessor Church, 4921 West Metairie Ave., 70001, on Friday morning, March 1, 2013 beginning at 9:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to St. Edward The Confessor School or Masses.
