Howard Thomas Lawrence

Howard Thomas Lawrence, age 91, died on Friday, June 30, 2023. Mr. Lawrence was born in New Orleans, LA and resided in Old Jefferson since 1958. Beloved husband of 70 years to the late Joyce Marie Konen Lawrence. Father of Deborah Lawrence Williams (Donald). Grandfather of Max Lawrence Williams. Son of the late Joseph Theodore Lawrence and Josephine Lattille Lawrence. Brother of the late Hilda, Florence ”Dolly”, Rita, Myrtle, J.T., Earl, Verna, Shirley and Irma. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Lawrence was a U.S. Army veteran serving stateside during the Korean War. He was a retired roofing contractor and was a member of the Four Seniors who sang at various senior citizen venues. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed sculpting, painting and photography. He loved all animals, especially birds. Mr. Lawrence was a beloved member of the Canton Street neighborhood, amusing decades of children with his many tricks and talents. He will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives he touched. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home on Thursday evening, July 6, 2023 beginning at 5:00 PM with a prayer service to follow at 7:00 PM. Interment will be private in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
