

Irma Diane Landry, age 71, a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Metairie, LA for 40 plus years, a SURVIVOR who has overcome many medical crises since early childhood, has lost her courageous battle with cancer on Friday, January 5, 2018. She is the beloved daughter of the late William J. Landry and Irma Baehr Landry. Irma had a knack of spreading sunshine on all the lives she touched including the dogs she fostered from the LASPCA shelter. Her caring ways and easy going nature will be missed by all. Irma was also a member of AARP Chapter 4273. Irma’s favorite poem was “The Footprints in the Sand” as the words reflected her relationship with the Lord. There will be no more suffering or disappointments in her new life with God in Heaven. Irma was a loyal employee of the City of New Orleans Department of Property Management for 38 years. After her retirement from the City she was a substitute teacher for Kelly Services in Jefferson Parish and an offsite adoption volunteer with the LASPCA. Survivors include relatives, friends and extended family including her two precious dogs, Sonny and Cher. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Ann Church, 3601 Transcontinental Drive in Metairie, LA on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 beginning at 10:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 12:00 noon.
