Isabel Holt Dannenberg, beloved wife of Richard M. Dannenberg III, and daughter of the late Governor Homer Adams Holt and Isabel Wood Holt of Charleston, West Virginia, died Saturday, April 14, 2018 . She was 89 years old. She was preceded in death by her brother Robert Byrne Holt of Woodbridge, Connecticut and sister Julia Holt Coyle of Charleston, WV.
Isabel was born in Richmond, Virginia, was brought up in Charleston, WV, moving to Oyster Bay, Long Island NY, where she lived with her parents until her marriage when she moved to Corpus Christi, Texas and later to Houston.
Metairie, LA has been her home since 1968.
Isabel attended Converse College in Spartanburg, South Carolina and graduated from Columbia Presbyterian School of Nursing, receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She was a member of the "The National Society of The Colonial Dames of West Virginia".
Isabel was survived by her loving husband, Richard M. Dannenberg III, and her beloved children Richard Adams Dannenberg of New York, NY, Roger Berry Dannenberg (Frances) of Pittsburgh, PA and Margaret Dannenberg Bossier of Metairie, LA. She was the proud grandmother of Richard Pierce Dannenberg of Madison, WI, Parker Holt Bossier of San Francisco, CA, and Emma Margaret Bossier of Metairie, LA.
Friends of the family are invited to the funeral service at Leitz Eagan Funeral Home Chapel at 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie on April 19, 2018, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM. She will be buried in the Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg WV. Arrangements will be handled by Wallace and Wallace funeral home in West Virginia.
