Isabel Cortez Russell, age 97, left us on Saturday, June 2, 2012. A native of Vera Cruz, Mexico and a resident of New Orleans, LA for 91years. Beloved wife of the late William Gerard Russell, Sr. Mother of Lillian Moran, Marlene Durel, Evelyn Cenni, Elizabeth Doell, Isabelle Russo and the late William Gerard Russell, Jr. and Charles Sebastian Russell, Sr. Also survived by 22 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by 2 grandchildren; her parents, Auturo and Alejandra Cabrera Cortez and her brothers and sisters. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday evening, June 6, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA and on Thursday morning at St. Mary’s Assumption Church, 2030 Constance Street in New Orleans beginning at 10:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 AM.
