Iva Noffsinger

Iva M. (nee Paxton) Noffsinger passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023. She was born on January 16, 1923 to the late Hugh and Willena Bernice (nee Ellzey) Paxton. She was lovingly known to friends and family as Snooks, Sookum, Nook Nook, Boots, Grandma, Mama I and Mommy I.

Iva cherished her role as a devoted wife to her late husband, Joseph Bradford Noffsinger. Together they raised their children; the late Joseph Bradford Noffsinger II, the late Candice Kay (Allen) Bayles and Peggy Lynn (Jon) Domec. She adored her grandchildren; Tiffany (Nate) Long, Brooke (Wayne) Hemmelder, Roy Chapman (Tiffany) Bayles, Guy (Andrea) Domec and Amy (Dustin) Gohs and her great-grandchildren; Ethan, Owen, Gavin, Ava, Joseph, Aiden, Braylen, Austin, Emma, Anna, Elliott and Paxton. She was also devoted to her sister Peggy Joy Tanner, nieces, nephews and cousins.

All who knew Iva appreciated her devotion to friends and her generous spirit. She was the last surviving charter member of Parkview Baptist Church. After her children were grown, she began substitute teaching in the Jefferson Parish School System and listed many co-workers as dear friends. She enjoyed traveling and was fortunate to have many adventures.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Parkview Baptist Church, 6301 Camphor Street, Metairie, LA on Monday, April 3, 2023 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services for immediate family only will be at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. A luncheon will be held at Parkview Baptist Church following the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. for all her friends and families.
