Jack Dwayne Connelly passed away at his residence in Kenner on December 11, 2015. He was 36 years old. Jack was a native of Kenner, but moved to Lacombe, LA at the age of 16 with his family. He moved back to Kenner in 2005. Jack has worked in auto body repair, landscaping, and grass cutting. Jack was an apprentice in the International Association of Heat & Frost Insulators & Allied Workers Local 53 at the time of his death. He was proud to be a member of its Union.
Jack loved to race motorcycles. By the age of four months, he rode in a sling nursing on his mother, as she drove him around on the pit bike at the racetrack. At the age of two he was riding his own motorcycle. Jack could pop wheelies on just about anything with wheels. He also loved women and had plenty of them starting at a young age. He had many friends who all looked up to him. Children wanted to be like him. He was just a likable guy.
Jack truly loved his five-month-old little girl, Jacklyn Connelly. She was the highlight of his life. Whenever he got her for weekends or saw her on weekdays, he would never put her down. Constantly, he sang to her, played with her and kissed her telling her how much he loved her as he caressed her so gently in his loving arms. Her only word is “dada.” Jack will now watch over her from heaven.
Jack was loved oh so deeply by his family. He was the second child out of five children born from his father, the late Patrick Connelly and his mother, Caprice Smith Connelly “Cappy.” He leaves behind his siblings: Patrick, married to Tanya Baum Connelly, Tiffany, Whitney, and Brittany. Jack also leaves behind four nephews and one niece: Kevin, Chase, Peyton, Cash and Scarlett . Jack leaves behind his wife, Nicole Laciura Connelly along with his four stepchildren: Hayley, Arianna, Carlito, and Ashlyn. Most important, he leaves behind his baby girl, Jacklyn . He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends who loved him dearly. Jack is now their guardian angel.
In lieu of flowers, please pray for the addicted whether they are clean or sober, or in active use, for once an addict, always an addict. The National Shrine of St. Jude has a site online to pray for someone-- http://blog.shrineofstjude.org/post/st-jude-prayer-for-addiction/comment-page-6/, and so does The Christian Prayer Center where thousands of Christians answer your prayer requests-- www.christianprayercenter.com/ These are just two sites that popped up; Jack would want to honor all religions. Of course, there is nothing like just praying outright to whoever one believes in. We all know someone who needs help.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service from LEITZ-EAGAN Metairie, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, on Monday evening, December 21, 2015 at 7:00pm.
