Jacquelyn Souderes Lothschuetz

Jacquelyn Souderes Lothschuetz was born on February 22, 1926, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to George Frederick Souderes and Laura Messina Souderes. She passed away peacefully at her home on July 12, 2026, at the remarkable age of 100.

She is lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews, including Ann Parish, Kathy Lothschuetz Montgomery, Jane Lothschuetz, Frank Lothschuetz, and Heather DuMont, as well as many extended family members and dear friends.

Jackie had a full and rewarding life and had many friends and associates. She graduated from H. Sophie Newcomb College on July 5, 1946 with highest scholastic attainment, was on the Dean’s List and was given the Alvarenga Award. Jackie was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority and was awarded the Outstanding Pledge Award. She was also a member of the New Orleans Opera, The Fine Arts Club, and several other organizations. Jackie taught at Delgado College for many years and developed friendships with many of her students.

Her loving daughter, Leslie Ann, predeceased her on November 27, 2023. She was assisted later in life by her caregivers, Michell Lee, Linda Chiron and Ella Gill.

Her graveside service will be held at Metairie Cemetery, New Orleans, LA on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Fr. Anthony McGinn, S.J.
