

James “Jim” Hollier, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2014. Beloved husband of 23 years to Carol Canepa Hollier. Loving father of Barbara Clesi (Joseph), Arlene Lowe (Donald), Stephen Hollier (Donna) and Cynthia Ellis (Spencer). Preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Hollier, his parents, Viola and Saturin Domac and 3 siblings. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A native of Port Barre, LA and a longtime resident of the Greater New Orleans area. Jim served in the U.S. Navy as a Engineman 3rd class until 1952. He was the Past Grand Knight, the Past Faithful Navigator and a member of the color guard for the Knights of Columbus. He was the owner of Simplex Machine Works for many years where he worked as a diesel mechanic and later was a tax preparer for H & R Block. He was a dedicated parishioner of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church where he served as an usher and was a member of the Hilltoppers.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Mass at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 4921 W. Metairie Ave., Metairie, LA on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 12:00 Noon. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until mass time. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests masses to be offered and/or donations made to St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Edward the Confessor Church, 4921 W. Metairie Ave., Metairie, LA 70001.
