November 22, 1950November 15, 2020

James Elbert McAcy Jr. passed into eternal rest on November 15th, 2020, one week before his 70th birthday. He was the son of the late James Elbert McAcy Sr. and Elaine Patricia McGuiness McAcy. Jim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karen Bush McAcy, their three sons, Shawn Michael McAcy (Danielle), Courtney James Kelch-McAcy (Kristi) and Brandon Keith McAcy (Julianne), eleven grandchildren, his sister, Elaine McAcy Garner, and many loving nieces and nephews. Jim is a graduate of East Jefferson High School, ’68. He graduated from Northwestern State University of Louisiana in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He went on to receive his Executive Master of Business Administration from Tulane University in 1990. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Laura Mae McAcy Gibson, his brother, John Thomas McAcy, and his sister-in-law, Nickie Schrieber McAcy. Jim was always known for his humor, his whit, and his famous bacon wrapped hamburgers. He loved his family very much. His love for his grandchildren was always evident by the smile they put on his face. When the chips were down and the seas were rough, he always put his family first. Jim is loved by many, and his memory will live deeply in our minds. His voice and his smile will forever hold a place in our hearts. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 28th at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home at 4747 Veterans Blvd in Metairie, LA at 9:00am followed by Mass at 11:00am. My husband and I will certainly miss Jims presence as he was a kind and gentle human being. Jim was very pleasant and always had a smile on his face. He was very respected and loved! He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren. We are so very sorry Karen. We are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers as well as the rest of your family! A good man and a great loss. May he Rest In Peace!
