Janell Faul Lorrain passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025 at the age of 85. She was born in Cankton, LA and was the youngest of 10 children to Jean Baptiste and Emma Leger Faul. She grew up in Louisiana's rich Cajun culture speaking French in the home and was raised on the family farm. She was instilled with a hard work ethic and strong Catholic faith. Her faith would carry her through the years in which she battled Alzheimer's Disease. The illness robbed her of most of her memory but her love of God, her prayer life, her French language and her love for her husband remained present.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Jerome Adrien Lorrain, her three children, Monique Lorrain Wesner (Lou), Reverend Matthew Lorrain, and Jerome Adrien Lorrain, Jr. (Janetta). She is also survived by her grandchildren Lauren Richardson (Jeff), Mallory Barkerding (Beau), Andrea Pearce (Mark), Daniel Lorrain (Isabel), Adrien Lorrain, David Lorrain and 9 great grandchildren who brought her great joy.
Janell is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Leslie Faul, Lester Faul, Eura Prejean, Grace Kidder, Lloyd Faul, Lois Bearb, Ewell Faul, Louella Benson and Harvey Faul.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Metairie, LA. The Funeral Mass will be officiated by Janell's son, Reverend Matthew Lorrain. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am. Christian burial will take place on Monday, July 21, 2025, in Rougeou Cemetery in Elmer, LA.
