Jefferson "Jeff" B. Martin Sr.

Jefferson “Jeff” B. Martin, Sr. passed away on December 28, 2020 after a longtime battle with Parkinson’s disease. He is survived by his children – Ashley M. Martin (J.T.) and Jefferson B. Martin, Jr. (Jodie), his grandchildren – Jefferson B. Martin, III and Kennedie Martin and his longtime companion and dedicated friend, Elizabeth “Liz” Williams. He is preceded in death by his parents James Martin and Frances Bush Martin, his brother James “Jimmy” Martin and his wife Theresa Chaplain Martin. Jeff will be missed by all of those who knew and loved him.

To know Jeff was to love Jeff. He was always an outgoing soul who was sure to make you smile at any given time. He was born in Greensboro, Alabama, and a graduate of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa where he played football so naturally he was an avid BAMA fan. He also loved to spend time in Gulf Shores, the beach was his happy place. Jeff loved many things in life, but most importantly was his family.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Good Samaritan Rehab and Nursing Center and ANVOI Hospice for their care and compassion during his final days. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Gathering on Saturday, January 16, 2021 from 10AM till 12 Noon at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA 70006. There will be a rosary said at 11:30AM in memory of Jeff. Interment will follow at Metairie Cemetery, in New Orleans, LA.
