Jimmy Ray McSpaddin went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at the age of 71. He was born in Phenix City, Alabama, and was a resident of Kenner, Louisiana. He attended Fortier High School and graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a degree in Bachelor of General Studies. In addition, he served in the Louisiana Army National Guard. He was so proud to say that he came from the Irish Channel in New Orleans, where he resided while growing up. He enjoyed having pool parties in his backyard with family and close friends, as long as it didn’t interfere with watching LSU and Saints games. He also loved going on last-minute road trips for relaxation and fun.
Beloved husband of Peggy Trapani McSpaddin of 42 years. Son of the late Jimmy Lee McSpaddin and Olivia Mancil Bordelon, and Stepfather Joseph Y. Bordelon. Loving father of Richard McSpaddin (Pam), Kerry McSpaddin (Aimee), and Stepfather of Christopher Davis (Heather), Nathan Davis, and Jessica Blanks (John). Brother of Danny McSpaddin (Joan) and the late Sammie, Judy, Kenny, and Bobby. Also survived by his 10 grandchildren, Kyle, Kate, Kara, Braeden, Paul, Ryan, Aidan, Seth, Brianna Edwards (Kevin), James Barbe’ (Tabitha), and 2 great-grandchildren Immanuel and Oliver. He was a long-time friend of Jody and Cheryl McDonald, Danny Southerland, Mark Ferguson, and Len McCombs. A special Thank You to brother-in-law Paul Luce for always reaching out and helping whenever he was needed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home at 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd in Metairie, Louisiana on Monday, November 6, 2023, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. The Chapel service begins at 1:00 pm.
