Joel Christopher Moore

Joel Christopher Moore, the Dean of Education at Cameron College, passed away on July 6, 2016. He was 70. Mr. Moore graduated from De La Salle High School and Loyola University, and received a master’s degree from the University of South Carolina. He was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. Mr. Moore was a passionate teacher all of his life, most recently at Cameron College where he worked for 35 years.

He was the beloved son of Elizabeth Parsons Moore and the late Walter Moore, husband of the late Gwendolyn Holmes Moore, father of Colette Moore and Helen Moore Kennedy, grandfather of Paul and Andrew LaPorte, and brother of Judy Caswell, David Moore, Elizabeth Moore, Eleanor Wright, and Virginia Aultman-Moore. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews. He will be sorely missed. Visitation will be on Saturday, July 23 2016 at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 6367 St Charles Ave, at 9 AM, with funeral mass to follow at 10:30 AM.
