John Richard Becker

John Richard Becker passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, November 19, 2017. He was 67 years old. Beloved husband of Virginia “Ginger” Becker for over 20 years. Loving father of Jeffrey R. Becker (Lauren) and Jennifer Becker. Grandfather of Anthony M.Garabold. Brother of Cathy Bouza (Sonny), and Mary Becker Fanning. Uncle of Michelle Fanning Halder (Lester), Melissa Fanning Schneider (David), Kimberly Culmone, Lisa D'Gerolamo (Dave), Shaun Becker, Jessica Mattix (Jake), and Amanda Dupuis (Beau). Son of the late Alvin John Becker and Annette Lorraine Richard, Brother of the late Gerard “Jerry” Becker and Baby Becker. John was a native of Uptown New Orleans and has been a resident of Jefferson for over 20 years. He retired from Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans after many years of dedicated service. John enjoyed traveling, working with his hands and spending time with his family. Contributions can be made in his memory to the Children's Hospital of New Orleans. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of his life at LEITZ-EAGAN Metairie, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, on Saturday morning, November 25, 2017 at 11:00 AM.
