John Oliver Evans III

John Oliver Evans, III (57), born on May 18,1964, of Metairie, Louisiana, passed away at home on Sunday, September 26, 2021. Mr. Evans graduated from Grace King High School and was a retired Jefferson Parish Fireman. Above all, he loved his wife and children and fiercely loved his friends. Even through his own hardships, he would be the first to reach out to those in need. An animal lover and outdoorsman, his interests included duck hunting, fishing, and LSU football. Mr. Evans is survived by his wife, Michelle Evans; son, Baylor Evans; daughter, Payton Evans; father, John O. Evans, Jr.; mother, Judy Furr Evans; sister, Mary Evans; brother, Patrick Evans (Lydia); and sister, Kellie Evans Moore (Timothy). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his son, Preston Evans. A visitation with family will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, from 11:00am-12:00pm, with a mass to follow at St. Ann Church & Shrine located at 3601 Transcontinental Dr. in Metairie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the John O. Evans, III Memorial Fund in care of Cleary Booster Club at 3700 Civic St., Metairie, LA, 70001.
