John J. Hazard III

John J. Hazard, III, beloved husband, father, grandfather and horseman, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, February 3, 2012. He was 66. Beloved husband of the late Carolyn Hazard for 47 years. Mother of Johnny and Nick Hazard (Nicole). Grandmother of CeCe, Joie, Izzy, Sonny, Gabby, Patrick and Sophie Hazard. Son of the late Joyce Van Hazard and John Hazard, Jr.

Brother of Janet Hazard and Robert Hazard.

Mr. Hazard graduated from St. Aloysius High School in 1963 and from Loyola University in 1975. For 40 years, he worked in his family’s business and was an avid enthusiast of the equine industry, personally owning several thoroughbreds.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 2:30 pm at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA. Visitation will begin at 1:30 pm. Interment will be private in Garden of Memories Cemetery at a later date.
