John “Johnny” Leo Kemna Sr. entered into eternal life on Sunday morning, May 22, 2016 at Chateau Living Center in Kenner. He was 81 years old. He has been a resident of Metairie and has been a parishioner of Our Lady of Divine Providence for over 50 years. He was born in Martinsburg, Missouri to the late Henry John and Rose Fenewald Kemna. Beloved husband of Carolyn Doussan Kemna of close to 59 years. Father of Susan Dubroc Kemna, Judy K. Gutierrez (Shawn), Donna Smithey Kemna, Caroline K. Hundscheid (Michael), and the late Baby Joseph Kemna and John “Buddy” L. Kemna Jr. Grandfather of April C. Dubroc-Hrubes, Shelby J. Smithey, Erica H. and Christian M. Gutierrez, Savannah L., Holly M., and Amelia R. Hundscheid. Great-grandfather of Austin Dubroc and Anna Heckler. Brother of Joseph Hubert Kemna, Freida K. Coil-Faber, Loretta K. Drake, and Maryjane K. Hanna. John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from Kenner Lock after 15 years of service and also worked for SCM and Access Door Control Systems. He received a degree in Electronics from Phillips Junior College and held a T.V. Technician License. He was a devout Catholic and longstanding member of the Knights of Columbus. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial from LEITZ-EAGAN Metairie, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, on Thursday afternoon, May 26, 2016 at 1:00.
