Phyliss, Lil and I just came back to town and sadly saw the notice of Gus' passing. I would have liked very much to be able to be with you and your family during these difficult days. Gus and I worked together for many years and he was always a strong contributor and friend as well as a wise observer of life. Jerry Viera

To the Mclaren Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. The time I spent with Gus at the plant was always an insightful time. Gus was serious about his work but kept focus on what was important. He was a very nice guy and we will miss he dearly. We are praying with you. I know you loved him but God loved him most.

I will miss seeing Gus on an almost daily basis while I walk my dog. He is one of the most cheerful people I know, always light in spirit and with a great sense of humor and constant smile.
He loved my dog, Fannye Belle, and would stop his truck in the middle of the street, roll down his window and chat with me while constantly petting and loving on my dog - not once but more times than I can count.
When I think of Gus, I think "happy", "funny" and "intelligent". I am glad to have known this man and am happy to have been his neighbor. May God give rest to your soul, Gus. Goodbye.
