Jonelle Rene Schmidt

Jonelle Rene Schmidt passed away on May 22, 2021 at the age of 38 after fighting an unknown disease for over a year and a half. She is survived by her loving parents, Philip and Adele Schmidt, her two brothers Eric and Michael Schmidt, her Aunts and Uncles, Robert and Pamala Schmidt, Michelle Taylor, and Kenneth Johnson. Her cousins, Danielle Taylor, Jareth Johnson, Robert Schmidt, Jr. (Erica), Andrew Schmidt (Corinne), and Charlé Schmidt, 2nd cousins Wayne Peters (Tony) and Ralph Peters (Linda), and her Godmother, Margaret Peters also survive her. She is preceded in death by her best friends, Jenny and Billy.

Jonelle was an outgoing, loving person who never met a stranger. She graduated from the University of New Orleans in 2014 and was Summa Cum Laude in Special Studies. She would go on to work for three years for the Orleans Criminal Sheriff Office. Jonelle also was a part-time volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House of New Orleans; a favorite moment was working the M Car racing event and hauling the hay. She will be sadly missed by daddy and momma forever.

Relatives and friends of Jonelle are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 1PM at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. Metairie, LA.
