I had the privilege of helping to take care of her during one of her hospital stays. What an amazing spirit.. So glad I got to meet you Jonne, your spirit lives on.

I met Jonne when I was asked to sub for her at Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Marrero, LA when she had to be absent due to her illness. She was always appreciative that I could be there when she couldn't, but let me tell you - she was dedicated!! She tried her best to show up even when she wasn't feeling well and only a serious problem (or literally having to be admitted to the hospital) kept her from the job and people she loved. I continued to attend Good Shepard even when I wasn't playing, and it was such a treat to hear Jonne leading the service music from the back of the congregation! She was an amazing musician and really made the hymns come alive! Another musician in the church commented to me that she loved playing with Jonne because they got to "rock out," and they really did! I didn't have a chance to get to know Jonne very well, but I can tell she was loved and will be sorely missed. My condolences and heart-felt sympathies go out to all who loved her.

I first met Jonne through "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". It was one of the most enjoyable shows I have ever done. She will be sorely missed. I am so glad that her talent will live on forever.

May the family find comfort and peace leaning on God.

Dear Barbara:  I was SO sorry to hear of Jonne's passing.  She was a precious friend and colleague to my daughter & son-in-law Beth & Bob Gnuse. I admired her talent and her great humor.  I wish I could come to the memorial--you are in my thoughts & prayers.

By chance Jonne answered our call to come in and "save the show" many years ago back in Merced, California.  She arrived and taught me more about musical directing in the short 6 weeks she was with us than I had learned in the 40 years prior.   What a talented big hearted lady.   Our paths never crossed again but I have always kept in touch and am so saddened by her passing.  My condolences to her family, loved ones, friends, and the many who were blessed by her.

Jonne was an amazing person.  She always made me laugh.  She always made her presence known.  Heaven is getting a very talented angel.  Love you...

I met Jonne when I first moved to New Orleans during the production of Phantom by Lyla Hay Owen. Jonne was a friendly, giving, big hearted person whom I became very good friends with. I'll never forget our trip to Disney World while she was doing Little Shop in Naples. I love you and will miss you dearly my friend. Heaven has a new choir director and she is smiling down on us. R.I.P. friend.

You supported me through my personal  struggles by throwing me into "Blood Brothers" as your producer. You made me leave my sofa and face the real world after my loss.You also nudged me toward the Marvelous Man that I would marry. Hey ! You predicted during "Blood Brothers" that Jeff and I would get married. AND the rest is History.You cared enough to make me want to live again, and so I did.
The World is saddened by Your leaving,  but Heaven is so much better because You are leading those Angels in Praises to GOD with that Pitch-Perfect Voice.

I met Jonne when I first started doing backstage at Le Petite Theatre in 2007. Jonne was an amazing musician and a wonderful person to work with. This will be such a tragic loss to our theatre community.  She made every show special. She was so full of life, and could always fill a room with laughter. We had some great times. She will be missed by so many. Truly an amazing person.

Jonne, you were truly one of a kind. I enjoyed working with you on Scream Queens and had held out hope that we would one day work together again. I pray that you bring the same spark to the other side that you brought to us all. May you rest in peace.

Joanne's musical abilities were so evident and gave all of us some wonderful evenings of musical theater.  I thought she faced life with much courage and conviction of self.  She was too young for this end.  She will be missed.

Jonne had an amazing talent and charisma. She drew people to her and could put a musical production together faster than I could put a salad together. We in the theater community can't believe she died so young.

Jonne was an abundantly talented musician and musical director and a unique, remarkable person who did not have an easy life, but lived it with courage.

Like many here, I met Jonne through theater and music. She gave me, fresh out of high school with no lead credits, the lead in her production of Blood Brothers. Her heart and personality were bigger than life, and I am grateful for the incredible experience. A truly talented gal who will be missed by many.

My husband and I knew Jonne a long time.  Who knows how she ended up at St. Luke's playing Godspell, Cotton Patch Gospel and Big River, but there she was.  Then we moved to Chattanooga,only to get a call from her offering us tickets to Smokey Joe's Cafe and there she was on stage banging out those tunes with such joy.  She loved musicals.  We've moved back and though I wouldn't miss visitation and the funeral I know she would understand better than anyone why I can't be there. I have a rehearsal with my students and the musical director for the show that is being performed the next Friday. We are so sorry for your loss and the loss to the theatre community.

Ms Barbara,  I was so stunned to hear of Jonne's passing!   I had no idea that she was so ill.  What a wonderful friend she was!  And such am amazing talent!!  I will miss her terribly . . . but know that I will see her again someday!!  She will remain in my prayers, as will you!   I love you both!!

I met Jonne when I was in Mysuggah Nuns under the direction of Uncle Wayne. We instantly connected when we found out we were both adopted. She was so sweet and very encouraging.. After Jonne became ill she asked me to teach 2 of her students Little Amy and Brandon. I was so honored that she would trust me to be there vocal coach. One thing I will always remember is watching Jonne play and direct from the piano. All eyes were on her and she never missed a beat. She was so driven and loved it!!  I am so sad she is gone. I was proud to be her friend.

I also in the midst of the crowds at the musicals when Jonne was being introduced , you knew you were among the elite..May you rest in peace my friend..

We met in 1983 (!), when Rivertown was doing the musical "Little Women!"  He had to drop out, and I (by miracle) took over for him...and overnight!!  We had been the best of friends for the next 3 decades!!!  He would make me PEE laffing....espesh when we'd go out to eat at a Chinese Buffet!!!   He will be sorely missed...and we'll be together again very soon, I'm sure!!

Barbara, You are in my thoughts and prayers.  It is so hard to comprehend that Jonne is gone from us. I truly miss her and her talent. She was amazing on the piano and always had us laughing. Our services just aren't the same without her.
