Joseph Alphonse Gannon

Joseph Alphonse Gannon, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Woods Gannon. Father of Linda Gannon Garfin (Dominador), Michael Joseph Gannon (Debbie), Eileen Gannon Andries (Greg), Brian Gerard Gannon (Mary), Mary Gannon Langlois and Patricia Gannon Tiziani (Rick). Survived by 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Brother of Loretta Gannon Groesbeck and Edna Gannon Treuting.

Mr. Gannon retired from International Lubricant Corporation (Shell Oil Co.) after 30 years of service as Supervisor of Research and Development. He was a WWII Air Force Veteran and a longtime parishioner of St. Matthew the Apostle Church.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the services. Visitation will be at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and at St. Matthew the Apostle Church, 10021 Jefferson Hwy., River Ridge on Friday, October 12, 2013 from 11:00 until 12:00 noon. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon at the Church. Interment will follow in St. Patrick #1 Cemetery. Mass offerings in lieu of flowers.
