Joseph Anthony Maggio Sr.

Joseph A. Maggio Sr. passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 6:17 a.m. Beloved husband of the late Mary Judith Maggio. Loving father of Joseph A. Maggio Jr. (and wife, Karen) and Michael K. Maggio (and wife, Robin). Proud grandfather of Christopher, Jessica, Katrina and 2nd Lieutenant Kimberley Maggio, U. S. Army. Son of Samuel S. Maggio Jr. and the late Edith Sevin Maggio. Brother of Samuel S. Maggio III. Also survived by many other relatives and friends. Joseph was a retired United States Naval Viet Nam War Veteran with 30 years of service and was also a retired Supervisor with the City of New Orleans’s Signal Shop, and an active member of the Golden Age Club. He will be loved and missed by all that who knew him. The family would like to express their thanks to the Staff of East Jefferson General Hospital, as well as Elise Whitney for the special care that they provided to him. Aged 71 years, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and a resident of Metairie, Louisiana for the past 36 years. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services from Leitz-Eagan funeral Home Chapel 4747 Veterans Blvd. Metairie, on Wednesday morning February 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in St. Louis Cemetery #3.
