Joseph Peter Untereiner

Joseph Peter Untereiner passed away peacefully on Christmas morning, December 25, 2017. He was 72 years old. Beloved husband of Patricia Wallace Untereiner of over 48 years. Loving father of Darren Untereiner (Bridget) and Paige Batt (Brian). Grandfather of Blake, Caleb, Rori, and Avery. Brother of the late John Untereiner (Bonnie). Son of the late Peter and Lily Lopez Untereiner. Also survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. Joe was a native of New Orleans and longtime resident of Metairie. He graduated from Redemptorist High School and proudly served his country in the United States Airforce, achieving the rank of Sergeant. Joe retired from Ports America and New Orleans Terminal, LLC as a General Superintendent. Joe was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend his Memorial Service at LEITZ-EAGAN Metairie, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, on Friday afternoon, January 5, 2018 at 1:00.
