Joshua Joseph Lensmyer

Joshua Joseph Lensmyer passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2013. He was born April 15, 1979 in Metairie, LA and was a resident of River Ridge, LA. Josh attended Saint Matthew the Apostle School in River Ridge, Archbishop Rummel High School, and the University of New Orleans.

He is survived by his loving parents, John Henry and Theresa Borne Lensmyer, his sister, Ashlee and brother-in-law, Aaron. He was nephew to Rosary and Byron Scandaliato, Caroline and the late Robert Harvey, Joseph “Dunnie” and Jean Borne, Adine and the late Jack Chaney, Ellen and Louis Falgoust, and Gilbert and Connie Lensmyer. He was also loved and will be missed by 22 first cousins and numerous other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph Rene Allison “Buster” and Laura Smith Borne and Gilbert Warren, Sr. and Lillian Voelkel Lensmyer.

Josh had a joyful spirit and a heart of gold. He was very loving, loyal, outgoing, but best of all, an amazing son and brother to his family. He was someone who could be counted on by his friends. He loved life and lived it to its fullest. Josh most recently followed in his father’s footsteps by working at Amtrak as an electrician. He was a member of IBEW Local 2149.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 11:00 am at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
