Mother and Grandmother Joycelyn Haynes love of life didn't come to an end with her death. Joycelyn Ann Woodward Haynes, entered into eternal rest at the age of 66 on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 9:20 a.m. at Tulane University Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Eldest daughter of Barbara L. Franklin of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and the late Norman N. Woodward Sr., bonus daughter to Caldonia Woodward, she is predeceased by her brother, Norman N. Woodward, Jr.

Joycelyn was a graduate of Xavier Preparatory Collegiate High school, she attended Southern University School of Social Work where she received her Masters of Social Work degree. Jocelyn was a retired employee of The Department of Children and Family Services where she was employed as an Adoption Specialist. She was a longtime member of St. Katherine Drexel Church. Joycelyn enjoyed living life on her terms and did it her way. Joycelyn was immensely proud of the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren, and so were we of her.

Her smile will be deeply missed by her long- time companion Mark L. Whiticar, her two beautiful daughters Tiffeny M. Haynes and Ernika F. Williams, 5 siblings Adrian, Eldridge Jr., Elliott, Breyton Franklin and Laura W. Sneeze. Joycelyn was also grandmother to Rodney Carey Jr., Royal Air Force Lakenheath in Suffolk, London, Kristopher and Kamren Bailey of Frisco, Texas, also Isabella E. and Reymond M. Williams. She was aunt to 6 nephews, Leander, Jude, Hampton and Joseph Franklin, Norman N. Woodward I, and Gievanne Ashley, of Memphis, Tennessee and a host of great-aunts, cousins, along with her St. Katherine Drexel Church family and friends.

A special thanks to Ernie Williams, Shawn S. Pierre, Treshawn C. Brown, and Msgr. John Cisewski of St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church. A cremation arrangement and private family inurnment has been planned at Joycelyn’s request.
