Juana "Juanita" Lopez Diaz

Juana (Juanita) Lopez Diaz was born on June 24, 1940 in Havana, Cuba. She passed away peacefully on Monday, May 6, 2013 with her family by her side. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Juanita had touched in some small way throughout her very memorable life. Juanita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Diaz and her sister, Pastora Lopez. Survivors include her daughter, Marisol Gonzalez-Aguilar; her step-sons, Carlos and Jorge Diaz; her son-in-law, Mauro Aguilar; her grandchildren, Ailenne Espinosa and Cristian Aguilar; her step-grandchildren, Yanet and Yinet Diaz; her brother, Alejandro Lopez; her sister, Nuncia Rodriguez and many more wonderful family members and friends. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Juanita’s life at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA on Friday, May 10, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm followed by a Funeral Mass on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 10:00 am. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
