Kathryn Pamela Sortina

Born on January 1, 1949, to Ernest J. Buras and Lana Buras, Pam graduated from Annunciation High School in New Orleans and carried the spirit of her hometown with her throughout her life. She built a life marked by devotion, resilience, and deep love for the people around her.

Pam was the devoted wife of Nick Anthony Sortina, her high school sweetheart of 58 years. Together, they shared a lasting bond that was a source of strength and comfort through every season of life. She was a loving mother to Kelly Marroccoli (Kenneth), Kasey Richard (Donald), and Kerry Steer (Jorge). She also cherished her grandchildren, Kenneth Marroccoli (Fallon), Ainsley Louviere (Destiny), Anthony Steer, Edwin Sortina, Nina Steer, and Donnick Richard, as well as her great-grandchildren Kenlon, Gianna, Maxen, Remi, and Bodie. Pam was survived by her two sisters Gail Gracia (Hector) and Terry Portier (Denny).

Those who knew Pam will remember her as a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was her family. She met life’s hardships with quiet courage, including a long battle with Guillain-Barré Syndrome and breast cancer, and never lost the gentle strength that defined her.

Pam found joy in gardening, travel, and dancing, and in the simple, meaningful moments shared with those she loved. Her family will forever carry forward the warmth, tenderness, and steadfast love she gave so freely.

Family and friends are invited to the Visitation, which will be held at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 4317 Richland Ave, Metairie, Louisiana 70002, on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Followed by a Funeral Mass from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Burial Following Funeral Mass will take place at Lake Lawn Park Cemetery, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans.
