Kelley Francis Lanier

Kelley F. Lanier, 68, of Metairie, LA, passed away Thursday, June 26, at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton, NC. He died unexpectedly while on a visit to his daughter's home in Granite Falls, NC. Kelley was a resident of Metairie for over 50 years. He was the son of Robert F. Lanier and Helen D. Lanier of Anita, Iowa. Kelley was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed by family and friends in New Orleans as well as in North Carolina. Kelley worked for 37 years for the Internal Revenue Service in New Orleans. He retired ten years ago and enjoyed travel and his passion for reading. He especially valued his visits with his grandson, Joshua, in North Carolina. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Sue K. Lanier; daughter, Jennifer L. Cline and husband, Tim, of Granite Falls, NC; grandson, Joshua Cline; and sister, Susan Lanier, of Atlantic, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2014 at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie with Deacon Glen Casanova officiating.
