

Lawrence Joseph Boteler Jr., a pillar of unrelenting strength, love, and faith, went to heaven peacefully to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 9, 2025, at the age of 77. His unwavering devotion to his family, friends, and community left a lasting mark on the lives of all who knew him.
Born to the late Lawrence Boteler and Hazel Burkhardt Delgado. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Theresa McNelis Boteler, who was his partner, best friend, and soulmate.
Lawrence's family was his greatest source of joy. He is also survived by his son Oscar Frank Pursell, III (Lisa), Julie Antoinette Pursell, and Lawrence Joseph Boteler, III (Caroline), his seven grandchildren, Jonathan Pursell (Amelia), Katey Pursell Bundus (Ethan), Rachel Pursell Ordonez (Josue'), Megan Stewart, Emily Pursell, Brandon Stewart, and Alyse Boteler; and eight great-grandchildren, who brought immense happiness to his life.
Lawrence was also survived by his siblings Wayne Boteler (Irene), Dolores Redman, John Boteler (Connie), Walter Boteler (Stella), Gary Boteler, Debra Dermid (Gerald), Frances Delgado and Frankie Delgado Jr.
Lawrence enlisted as a Merchant Marine in his early years. He was selected into the New Orleans Electrical Joint Apprenticeship Program through the IBEW Local Union 130 in 1971, where he completed a 4-year training program achieving the outstanding apprentice award in 1976. He also worked many more years through IBEW Local Union 130. Larry also worked for many influential clients including William G. Helis Estate and Georges Enterprises.
A Celebration of Life Remembrance Service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Celebration Church, 2001 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA 70001. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to stay following the service to share memories and fellowship.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to your local food banks in his memory a cause close to Lawrence's heart.
