

Lawrence "Larry" Roy Ural passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, March 6, 2023, at the age of 66. Devoted husband of 44 years to Kathleen Porter Ural, father of Lance Ural (Mia) and PawPaw to Emma, Owen and Samuel. Beloved brother of David Ural, Sr. (Margaret), Mickey Ural, Tammy Ural and Leslie Ural, Uncle to 12 nieces and nephews and 13 great-nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, William and Emily Ural, and sister-in-law, Michelle Fonte Ural.
After graduating from East Jefferson High School in 1975, Larry began working in the electrical construction field, eventually starting his company, River Parish Electric, LLC, in 1989. Following in his father’s footsteps, Larry became a volunteer firefighter for St. Rose Volunteer Fire Department in 1984, serving as Assistant Chief for 15 years and remaining a lifetime member until his passing. Always ready to help and never able to sit idle for long, Larry served his community through various organizations and committees.
Larry was an avid outdoorsman whose love of life, family, fun and food shined through in his smile and ability to make everyone around him laugh. As a member of the Big Woods Hunting Club and a lover of fishing, Larry enjoyed nothing more than cranking up the grill and sharing his catch with family and friends, hosting countless pool parties, BBQs and crawfish boils for anyone who walked through his always open door. As a member of the St. Rose Supper Club, Larry looked forward to spending time reminiscing and telling jokes with the guys every month.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Friday, March 10, 2023, at 1:00 PM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 13396 River Rd. in Destrehan, LA. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum, 11316 River Rd. in St. Rose, LA.
