Linda L. Ashbey

Linda Leblanc Ashbey, age 80, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2023, at her home in Metairie, LA. She was born in New Orleans to the late Raymond and Una Mae LeBlanc. She was a lifelong resident of Metairie. Linda was the beloved wife of the late Allen R. Ashbey for 54 years. She is preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Price. She was the loving mother of her children, Allen R. Ashbey, Jr. (Janine), Kevin Ashbey (Joann), and Melissa Ashbey Walsh (Terry). Linda was the proud grandmother of Alannah Ashbey and Reagan Walsh. She was also the loving Aunt of Toni Horvat.

Linda graduated from Holy Angels High School. She spent the majority of her career as the Bissonet Elementary School accountant until she retired. However, Linda’s greatest passion was to travel to spend time with her children and grandchildren. In her spare time, Linda and Allen enjoyed dancing for many years. Linda was a cancer survivor and fought many long health battles over the most recent years.

Visitation will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana on Monday, February 27, 2023, from 9:00 am - 11:00 am. A Mass of Christian burial will follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that Masses be said in Linda’s honor. Entombment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1225 Whitney Avenue, Gretna, Louisiana. Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.leitzeaganfuneralhome.com.
