Lois Poirier Zitzmann

Lois Poirier Zitzmann, age 65, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family and close friends. Mrs. Zitzmann was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Metairie, LA. Beloved wife of Ronald J. Zitzmann for 45 years. Mother of Rhonda Zitzmann Calcote (husband, Scott, Sr.) and Dana Zitzmann-Hebert (husband Robert, Jr.). Grandmother of Scotty, Jr. and Robert, III. Sister of Joseph C. Poirier, Jr. (wife, Leann). Daughter of the late Joseph C. Poirier, Sr. and Violet Dies Poirier. Daughter-in-law of the late Lucille Kettelberger Zitzmann. Aunt of Joseph, III and Christopher Poirier, Philip Hebert, Kenny, John and Denise Latour, Lori Fonte and Richie Zitzmann. Sister-in-law of Althea Latour (husband, Johnny). Also survived by many loving relatives and friends. Mrs. Zitzmann was a longtime employee of the Louisiana Restaurant Association. She was also a member/officer of the Krewe of Rhea for over 20 years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA on Thursday evening, January 8, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM and on Friday, January 9, 2015 at St. Christopher Church, 309 Manson Avenue, Metairie, LA beginning at 11:30 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 1:00 PM.
